Contagious Smiles

How much longer, to fall out of this blue,

And be contended with things I once knew.

How much longer, for this dreams to come true

And say, yes, this all was worth going through.

Where is the bright star that I followed every night?

Who chose to guide me no longer in broad day light.

Where is the beauty that I once knew?

To rekindle the candle of joy anew.

Constrained numbness has pressed a lasting defect,

When contagious smiles no longer infects.

Will this bitter face take a form as new

Just a sign, symbol or a clue will do.

If this is biographical, I hope you get out of the numbness and find the joy and beauty in your heart again. Great writing nonetheless. 🙂
