Necessary Compromise

He kicked the ball to him, and he passes it on to another,

And that was yesterday; today, the ball game is another.

The race that starts from every mother’s womb

Takes us to varied heights, causing erosion of our innocence,

What defines the difference today, between them

Was one who struggled today and the other who left it for tomorrow.

Some leave it to fate to decide their future,

Others make compromises with fate itself,

And fewer still, narrate their own fate.

Yes the temptation is strong, but will you waver;

Yes it gets harder from here, but will you adhere –

To your dreams, and be one among few

To witness your dreams come true.

Or will you choose an easier path, and let your dreams

Be dreams, and its reality will never see.

Does keeping yourself unknown satisfies

Now with fate that you’ve compromise,

Even worse a necessary compromise.

Struggle, an inevitable part of life,

You might as well today, or

Can always leave it for tomorrow

But I doubt that’s what you had in mind.

I see and internal struggle of choices and justification of the choices. I like it as I see myself within the words!
