Picture’s Resonance

Its funny how everyday is taken for granted and life is lived on.

Some, pushing themselves and others well, just gliding away.

If only we paused for a moment, to behold and admire,

The lustrous life that each of us respire.

Then would we see hazel and not blur

And find meaning in life once lived,

As oppose to momentary pleasure.

And tell a tale, through a photograph,

With sentiments embedded and emotions stringed.

To refresh our vague memories in a far away time

And relive those moments when I once called you mine

And with it, those little moments known to none but us.

Into these pictures will quietly gaze, with a smirk on my face

Only to shed tears, not of sorrow nor of joy, but of contentment

For I know the picture will resonate, vivid memories even after we fade

Lovely poem, but a little quirk I have is that you wrote “with a smirk in my face” when I’m pretty sure it’s “with a smirk on my face.” Third line from the bottom.

I make mistakes like these all the time, but only notice them when and if I reread my work.

Other than that, this is a very good poem. It evokes a “existence” from me.

Thank you very much for pointing that out, its only through others reviews that we see our own mistakes..
I hope everyone will help me further to keep check of my errors..!!

    Hello Jagring!

Very interesting form, where emotions sort of come to a close when you are talking about the beauty of life the lines close up, and expand again when you remember heartwarming/wrenching moments. I liked it.

Meanwhile, painting a picture of a picture with words eh? Nice.

    • jagring says:

The greatest pleasure for any poet still remains in their poems touching others heart, and being able to inflict smile without complusion. No recognition or awards can surpass the feeling that your poem made someone’s life better.

Also, really appreciate your analogy ‘painting pictures with words’.
Thanks a lot, and good luck to you too..!!
