If, But

If only I could tell what thoughts were running through your head,

Then I’d present before you everything you desired,

But that would shun the very core of your curious existence.

If only I could tell what’s behind those eyes then I’d do my very best,

To ease every little bitterness deep inside your heart,

But that would ruin the very foundations that you’re part.

If only I could see deep inside your heart then I’d,

Nurture and care for the innocence still thriving hard,

But that would mean disfiguring the very existence.

If only I could lie beside you and be a part of your humble heart,

I’d forget existence and where lies the golden arc,

But am I even worthy to kneel at your presence.
