What If (2)

What If I ask you to walk with me?

Would you agree?

And spare my bad times

With a moment of glee.

What if I ask you to dance with me?

Would you agree?

And spare my blunt skills

With a moment of perfection.

What If I ask to hold you beside me?

Would you agree?

And spare my immortal isolation,

With a moment of company.

And if all this I ask,

And you do not agree;

Then leave me in doubt my love

And let me live on, anxiously.
